John Samson: New York City, New York
As you may know, I have been living in New York City since August as a member of Mercy Volunteer Corps (MVC). This time has been filled with transitions, successes, failures, and learning experiences and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of an incredible organization. I can’t say these have been the easiest months, though I wouldn’t trade them for anything. I have already gained so many great insights into life outside of Central California as well as perspectives on youth in the foster care system. I look forward to continuing to learn throughout this year.
Part of being a volunteer this year is a goal of raising at least $500 to support the organization. Like so many other organizations, MVC relies on the financial support of the community to help make my year of volunteer work possible. I hope you know that every single dollar counts and no donation is too small. If you aren’t able to donate financially, prayers and good thoughts are always welcomed. Thanks for spending a minute reading a bit about my year!
