Facts about the U.S. Program

U.S. volunteers serve a 1 year term in one of 9 different service cities across the United States in the areas of Social Services, Education, and Healthcare.

Service Sites

MVC Ministries Include

Education: Teaching (elementary, secondary, special education, vocational technology), Tutoring (literacy, ESL, GED, life skills), and After School Programs

Healthcare: Nursing, OT, PT, Speech Therapist, Home Health Aides, Community Health Educators, Health Clinic and Medical Emergency Centers

Social Services: Homeless and Community Outreach, Transitional Housing, HIV/AIDS ministry, Theatre Programs, Immigration Legal Advocacy, Peace and Justice Ministry, Domestic Violence Shelters, Assisting People with Disabilities (both developmental and physical)

U.S. Volunteers begin service in early August with Mercy Volunteer Corps Orientation and finish the following July.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

  • Priority Deadline- January 15th
  • Final Deadline- May 27th

Interviews are set up in an applicant’s geographic area.
