Facts About U.S. Placememt
U.S. volunteers serve a one-year term in one of eleven different service cities across the United States in the areas of Social Services, Education, and Healthcare. U.S. Volunteers begin service in early August with Mercy Volunteer Corps Orientation and finish the following July.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Interviews are set up in an applicant’s geographical area.
- Priority Deadline: January 18th
- General Deadline: March 1st
- Final Deadline: May 24th
Education: Teaching (elementary, secondary, special education, vocational technology), Tutoring (literacy, GED, life skills), and After School Programs
Healthcare: Nursing, OT, PT, Speech Therapist, Home Health Aides, Community Health Educators, and Health Clinics
Social Services: Homeless and Community Outreach, Transitional Housing, Immigration Legal Advocacy, Peace and Justice Ministry, Domestic Violence Shelters, Assisting People with Disabilities (both developmental and physical)
