Facts About U.S. Placement
U.S. volunteers serve a one-year term in one of ten different service cities across the United States in the areas of Social Services, Education, and Healthcare. U.S. Volunteers begin service in early August with Mercy Volunteer Corps Orientation and finish the following July.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Interviews are set up in an applicant’s geographical area.

Education: Teaching (elementary, secondary, special education), Tutoring (literacy, GED, life skills), and After School Programs
Healthcare: Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Community Health Educators, and Health Clinics
Social Services: Homelessness and Transitional Housing, Addiction and Recovery, Community Outreach, Counseling, Immigration and Refugee Services, Peace and Justice Advocacy, Women’s Issues, Senior Citizens
