Dear Friends of Mercy,

These past weeks we have been challenged in a new way to confront the abhorrent racism in our society. We are grateful to the Sisters of Mercy’s Institute Leadership Team for their timely response in grieving the lives of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor and for their call to “end the extrajudicial killings of African Americans.”

Mercy Volunteer Corps stands in solidarity with our brothers and sisters affected by racism and all those who stand up to injustice. The staff of MVC is committed now more than ever to listening and learning. Over the past few days, we have used our social media to amplify black voices and have worked to gather resources to engage more deeply in understanding.

Over the next five weeks, we will start our journey to watch, listen, learn, act, and pray. The calendar attached below provides links to resources focusing on our Mercy Critical Concern of Anti-Racism. We hope you’ll join us on our journey to both educate ourselves and advocate for others.

Mercy Volunteer Corps thanks all who participated in our five-week challenge. Please know that you can start this challenge as a self-guided resource at any time. Any questions can be directed to
