“My most significant accomplishment has been getting my student with the most stereotypical autistic behavior to trust me. He now hugs me more than he clobbers me with sticks, which is a lot of hugs. I think I’ve put in enough time here to really feel comfortable in my classroom, and with this student in particular, it feels like he’s giving back.”
