MVC OFFERS EDUCATION PLACEMENTS IN THE USA AND SOUTH AMERICA.
Mercy Volunteers serving in the education field are placed either in a classroom or at an enrichment program. Classroom experience is available for elementary, high school, paraprofessional, workforce development, and special education. Some Mercy Volunteers serving in the education field apply for graduate school during their year of service. MVC is very supportive and will work with you to accommodate interviews for school. Make sure to check out our education discounts for MVC alumni!
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Interviews are set up in an applicant’s geographical area. Submit your application by January 22 for priority in selecting your service site and city!

PROFESSIONAL PLACEMENTS
Mercy Volunteers serving in the education field gain professional experience at accredited institutions across the U.S. and South America. Each of these positions is supported by a site supervisor who ensures that our volunteer is gaining professional experience and is fully immersed in their service site. After their year of service, a significant number of our volunteers are offered full-time positions at their service sites! To view our service sites by city please click here.

Advocacy: The volunteer will research and prepare educational materials on core issues, plan programs and prayer services, and engage in grassroots organizing with various collaborating groups.
ST. BONIFACE
SCHOOL
Cincinnati
Classroom: A volunteer will support grades 3-5 classroom teachers with preparation of lessons and materials and engage students in one-on-one and small group instruction.

Enrichment: A volunteer is needed to serve in Campus Ministry and with the Dean of Students.

Enrichment: A volunteer is needed to support the Girls’ Program for after school tutoring and enrichment for girls in 2nd-12th grade.
MERCY NEIGHBORHOOD MINISTRIES
Philadelphia
Enrichment: A volunteer is needed to support the Pre-K program and provide academic support and implementation of activities for children 3-5 years old.
BOSCO
ACADEMY
Guyana, South America
Classroom: Volunteers are needed to serve as teachers, tutors, and cocurricular activities coordinators at Bosco Academy, an elementary school connected with St. John Bosco Boys’ Orphanage.
MERCY WINGS VOCATIONAL CENTER
Guyana, South America
Classroom: Volunteers are needed as teachers in the Adolescent Development Program (ages 14-19) and in remedial subjects (math, reading, or computer literacy).
