VOLUNTEER FOR A YEAR OF SERVICE
Mercy Volunteer Corps has you covered!
Mercy Volunteers live in a fully furnished house or apartment in communities of 3-5. MVC covers rent and all utilities during your year of service.
From Orientation in August to your service site, during your year of service, to all retreats, and back home again after your year of service is complete.
Volunteers receive both personal and community stipends. Community members pool stipends to purchase groceries and household items.
Mercy Volunteers receive health insurance through Catholic Volunteer Network. Volunteers can also be reimbursed if already covered.
Student Loan Deferment
Most Mercy Volunteers are able to defer their loans during their year of service with Mercy Volunteer Corps through proof of commitment. Please contact your lender to verify.
Professional Growth and Development
Develop your skills and gain new experience at your service site that can be helpful in obtaining employment after your volunteer experience.
Mercy Volunteers attend four retreats: Orientation Retreat, Transition Retreat, Fall Retreat, and Winter Retreat. Expenses are all covered.
MVC offers unique opportunities to engage with social justice issues across the United States. Volunteers visit the United Nations, attend rallies, and appeal to political officials.
