Invisible Gifts

Some gifts are hard to see

The heart pumping blood throughout the body

The liver digesting what we put in

These gifts are not always visible

I often choose not to acknowledge these gifts

He told me that faith without work is dead

So I went to find my purpose, my dream, my goal

Only to realize I don’t have those things

Only to realize those aren’t my gifts

He gave me something far greater than a dream, a goal, a purpose

He gave me the courage to realize it’s okay not to have those things

This realization was a gift that was hidden

Freedom I didn’t know I needed

But I see it now, because I chose to
