Overcoming Challenges
There has been so much that I have learned so far this year. I am learning about myself and about what it’s like having a job. I would like to share some things that I have experienced here in Baltimore. When me and my community arrived in Baltimore after Orientation I was so nervous and I really did not know if I would like it here in Maryland. Everything was new for me I had not really spent much time in Baltimore before this. Just the culture of Baltimore was so different than what I was use to.
The first few weeks were hard because I was not comfortable with my new city yet, but then I overcame a challenge: driving in the city. I was nervous about driving in a new place. With some help from my community I am driving now by myself and I am very happy that I overcome this fear of mine! Now that things are starting to settle down I have enjoyed exploring Baltimore more and more. I am very happy with what I have done during my year of service so far. This year has been a year of learning for me and I am very happy that I am finding out who I am. I can’t wait to see what new and excited places we explore in Baltimore!
